For a long time, communication between humans and computers meant humans accommodating the machines—translating our thoughts into symbols, structures, and syntax that fit computational logic.
Then came machine learning, offering a middle ground between the ambiguity humans are used to and the precision computers demand. Each side took a half-step toward the other, forming an imperfect but workable understanding.
Now, with the advent of large language models, computers have begun to accommodate us—for the first time, they speak our native tongue, translating their numbers and logic into human language.
